Dr. Jin has held senior executive and advisory roles in Australia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Russia, Hong Kong, and mainland China, giving him a nuanced understanding of both developed and emerging resource markets. His work has spanned:

• Exploration & Resource Mapping: Leading multi-country geological teams in the assessment of metallic and non-metallic mineral reserves.

• Mine Development & Operations: Overseeing mine lifecycle stages including feasibility, permitting, construction, and production.

• Oil & Gas Project Management: Serving as CEO and executive director of an ASX-listed oil & gas company for nearly a decade, managing exploration blocks, production sharing contracts (PSCs), and investor relations.

• Logistics & Bulk Commodity Trading: Facilitating large-scale supply chain and port logistics operations for coal, iron ore, copper, and rare earth exports.

• Corporate Structuring & International Financing: Coordinating M&A, JV formations, and capital raising in support of major upstream and midstream projects.

Strategic Roles in leading group and Private Enterprises

For over 15 years, Dr. Jin held leadership roles in key global leading group in the energy and mining sectors. He was responsible for:

• Designing and implementing large-scale infrastructure and resource development projects in alignment with national industrial policy.

• Managing cross-border cooperation initiatives between global leading group and governments, private mining firms, and development finance institutions.​

Role at Touchstone Capital Partners

At Touchstone Capital Partners, Dr. Jin oversees the origination, structuring, and execution of mining and natural resource investment strategies. His mandate includes:

• Evaluating investment opportunities in mining, energy, and critical minerals globally, particularly in Africa, Central Asia, and Latin America.

• Leading technical and operational due diligence across mining verticals including base metals, battery materials, industrial minerals, and hydrocarbons.

• Partnering with sovereign entities, project sponsors, and institutional investors to develop large-scale resource projects with embedded infrastructure.

• Supporting ESG compliance, local content policies, and sustainable mining practices within Touchstone’s portfolio.

Academic and Technical Background

Dr. Jin holds a PhD in Resource Geology, and has received executive education in corporate governance, strategic finance, and energy economics.
